As a published writer, experienced literary journal editor, tutor and educator, holder of an MFA and PhD in creative writing, recipient of writing fellowships and scholarships, and finalist for book prizes, I am prepared to help you take your project to the next level.

I offer a range of editorial services for short-form and long-form narrative projects: from line edits on individual stories to developmental edits on book-length projects. I also review artist statements, MFA & PhD application materials, and other documents necessary for the professional writer.
Long-form narrative: novels, story collections, and narrative nonfiction such as memoirs.

I offer developmental edits (big picture stuff: plot, characterization, continuity, atmosphere, emotion, accumulation, etc.) and/or line edits focusing not just on grammar, punctuation, etc. but on style, voice, tone, and poetics.
This work includes marginal notes and a feedback letter.

Having received my MFA and PhD in creative writing at fully-funded programs, I know what makes for a strong application. This service can include reviewing your letter of interest, writing sample, and/or resume/CV.
Have a project in mind but need help focusing your intentions, sparking creativity, and/or reading recommendations and other writerly advice? I'm available for coaching sessions that include sustained focus on your goals, writing prompts, and questions that will challenge you to get those fingers typing. I have experience working with adults as well as teenagers.

The artist statement is an essential document for procuring opportunities such as writing residencies, retreats, and fellowships. This service includes an initial review of your artist statement, including a phone call and notes/edits, as well as a follow up edit on a revised statement.
